Baznas Builds Seven Emergency Classrooms for Children in North Gaza, Palestine
SUARA NEGERI | GAZA — The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia built seven emergency classroom tents for children in the Beit Lahia area of North Gaza, Palestine.
These temporary learning facilities are provided to support the education of children affected by the humanitarian crisis.
Through this program, temporary classrooms equipped with tables and chairs are provided so that children can participate in learning activities more comfortably.
Baznas Chairman Sodik Mudjahid stated that access to education for children must be maintained even in emergency situations. The presence of emergency classroom tents is expected to assist them in the learning process.
"These emergency classroom tents are expected to help them continue their learning activities despite the difficult situation," Sodik said in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Sodik expressed his gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for his continued encouragement and trust in Baznas, enabling him to implement this program.
"We also extend our gratitude to all the Indonesian people who have distributed their aid through Baznas," said Sodik.
The emergency classroom facility in Beit Lahia is designed to accommodate 100 children, divided into two learning sessions. Each session is attended by approximately 45 to 50 students. (dea)
