Tel Aviv is now like Gaza

SUARA NEGERI ■ JAKARTA — Tel Aviv and Gaza were indeed different, that was in the past. Now, both are war-torn areas.

This stark contrast is no longer evident in Tel Aviv, once a functional, high-tech, and social hub.

Now, Tel Aviv and Gaza have experienced widespread destruction. Although the ongoing conflict impacts daily life in Tel Aviv with concerns about safety, the city can no longer maintain a normal lifestyle.

The widespread circulation of videos of Iran's attacks on Israel is a fact that cannot be hidden, despite Tel Aviv authorities' attempts to cover up the destruction.

A journalist from DetikNews.sbs, who was on the border with Tel Aviv, reported the severe conditions and destruction.

"This is a fact that cannot be hidden in this digital age. This is an end-of-time phenomenon, showing us all to be self-aware; arrogance is meaningless when we see the conditions here," said Jeane Patikawa today (March 7).

Meanwhile, the US State Department advised caution in Israel due to civil unrest.

This advice follows internal turmoil. There are reports of internal political challenges in Israel, including protests and governance issues.

Protests against the war and for the release of hostages have been held in Tel Aviv, demonstrating a different kind of civic engagement at this time.

While the ongoing conflict is causing anxiety and disruption in Tel Aviv and throughout Israel, it does not reflect the utter devastation experienced in Gaza. (*)
