Bangun Nawoko: Dandim Yudo's Hard Work is Extraordinary
SUARA NEGERI | BENTENG CITY — The Commander of the XIV/Hasanuddin Military District Command, Major General Bangun Nawoko, paid a working visit to the Selayar Islands Regency, South Sulawesi, on Monday (May 18, 2026).
The visit was part of an agenda to review the Indonesian Army's strategic programs in the outermost areas of the XIV/Hasanuddin Military District Command.
During the visit, the Commander was accompanied by Mrs. Renny Bangun Nawoko, Chairperson of the Kartika Chandra Kirana Persit XIV/Hasanuddin Region, and the delegation was welcomed by the Regent of the Selayar Islands, Natsir Ali, the Commander of the 1415/Selayar Military District Command, Yudo Harianto, and members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda).
During his stay in Selayar, Major General Bangun Nawoko was scheduled to inspect several construction sites for the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDKMP) built by the 1415/Selayar Military District Command.
The Regional Military Commander (Pangdam) will also officially close the 128th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) program for the 2026 Fiscal Year in Batangmata Sapo Village, Bontomatene District, on Thursday (May 21).
In addition to the TMMD agenda and the KDKMP (Village Development Cooperative) inspection, the XIV/Hasanuddin Regional Military Commander and his entourage are also scheduled to visit the Nekara Museum in Matalalang, Bontobangun Village, Bontoharu District, Selayar Islands Regency.
While inspecting the KDKMP Building in Bontosunggu Village, the Regional Military Commander and his entourage were greeted by the Acting Village Head of Bontosunggu. The Regional Military Commander explained to reporters that the visit was to observe firsthand the progress of the cooperative building, which is said to be the first KDKMP building completed in South Sulawesi.
According to him, the construction of the building is a significant achievement amidst the geographical challenges of the archipelago, limited building materials, and time-consuming logistics distribution.
The Regional Military Commander also expressed his appreciation to the Dandim 1415 Selayar and his Babinsa (Village Supervisory Agency) for their swift completion of the construction.
"This KDKMP building is the first to be completed outside of Java. This is remarkable thanks to the hard work of the 1415/Selayar Military District Commander and the support of the Regent and all stakeholders in the Selayar Islands Regency," said Bangun Nawoko.
He said the successful construction of the KDKMP in Selayar is expected to motivate other Military District Commanders, especially those in the XIV/Hasanuddin Military Command (Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin) area.
Bangun Nawoko explained that 1,883 KDKMP construction sites are planned within the XIV/Hasanuddin Military District territory. Specifically, the building inspected in Bontosunggu Village was of good quality, with neat and sturdy workmanship.
"The building is sturdy and the details are meticulous. It just depends on how the village government and the community maintain and utilize it properly to keep the economy moving and improve the welfare of residents," he said. (Jeane Patikawa)
