Munjirin Attends 2026 Partangiangan Party, Highlights Importance of Preserving Batak Culture
SUARA NEGERI | JAKARTA — The Mayor of East Jakarta, Munjirin, along with the Chairperson of the East Jakarta City Family Welfare Movement (PKK), Essie Feransie Munjirin, attended the 2026 Partangiangan Party, a Borsak Guidance Group for Hutasoit and Boru Jabodetabek, held at the Mulia & Raja Multipurpose Building, Jalan Kebon Nanas No. 70, Cipinang Besar Selatan Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, on Sunday (June 7, 2026).
The Mayor's arrival was warmly welcomed by the Hutasoit family with tor-tor dances, gondang music, and the pinning of ulos and sortali cloth as symbols of respect and brotherhood. Munjirin was accompanied by the Head of the General and Protocol Section of East Jakarta, Nina Permata.
The Partangiangan Festival, attended by the extended Borsak Bimbinan Hutasoit family and members from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, served as a means of fostering friendship and preserving Batak culture, which has been passed down through generations.
In his remarks, Munjirin conveyed his congratulations to the entire Borsak Bimbinan Hutasoit family. He considered the Bolon Partangiangan Festival not merely a cultural tradition, but also a way of expressing gratitude to God Almighty for the health, longevity, and togetherness that persists within the extended family.
"The Bolon Partangiangan Festival teaches us three important things: gratitude for life, respect for ancestors, and strengthening bonds of brotherhood. These are the values we need to work together to build East Jakarta," said Munjirin.
According to him, the values of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and respect for cultural heritage embodied in the event align with the East Jakarta City Government's efforts to build a harmonious and character-based society.
Munjirin also expressed his appreciation for the Hutasoit family's continued commitment to preserving traditions and cultural identity amidst changing times. He hopes similar activities can continue to be held as a means of strengthening intergenerational ties and enriching the cultural heritage of East Jakarta.
He further emphasized his support for various positive activities oriented towards cultural preservation and strengthening community unity. He stated that the East Jakarta City Government is ready to collaborate with various communities to create a harmonious, inclusive, and culturally diverse environment.
"Have a great party, enjoy the gondang and tor-tor together. May this extended family always be under God's protection," he concluded.
Through the 2026 Partangiangan Festival, the extended Borsak Bimbinan Hutasoit and Boru families throughout Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) are not only strengthening ties but also strengthening their commitment to preserving cultural values and togetherness as part of the richness of Indonesian society.
